About the Role


The role is designed for a highly motivated Clinical Nurse Educator with post graduate Neonatal Intensive Care qualifications (or equivalent) who is keen to work in an education team to assist the Western Health Newborn Services Unit deliver Level 6A neonatal capability.


You would be responsible for supporting and developing the Post-graduate students in Newborn Services at Western Health and during their NICU rotation at The Women’s, for developing, co-ordinating, implementing and evaluating training and education programs to support the existing Newborn Services team deliver Level 6A neonatal service, and for collaborating with the Newborn Services CNE who oversees the Newborn Services staff, Graduate Nurses, Graduate Midwives and undergraduate students who rotate through the unit. You would also be required to contribute to and/or develop and review new and existing neonatal policies, procedures and guidelines in collaboration with the Neonatal Services Development Manager and the Clinical Practice Improvement Specialist (Neonatal).


To be Successful in this Role you



  • Will have registration as an RN or RN/RM with AHPRA

  • Will have Post-graduate qualifications in Neonatal Intensive Care or equivalent

  • Would ideally have post-graduate qualifications in Education (or equivalent) or be working towards

  • Have demonstrated skills and abilities in utilising contemporary education strategies based on adult learning principles to support staff development
