About Women’s Mental Health Service located within the Social Model for Women's Health


Women’s Mental Health is a key component of any woman’s Health and Wellbeing. Our Mental Health Service is a  Consultation Liaison Service that supports women who present to our hospital for clinical care relating to maternity, gynaecological /obstetrician /oncology services .


Women’s Mental Health Service is located within an innovative and new division within the Women’s Hospital. The Social Model of Health Division at the Women’s has responsibility for ensuring the hospital’s clinical and social support services are coordinated, aligned and leveraged to provide wrap around care for the women who need it most.


About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity in Psychology, where staff have an opportunity to contribute to the development of the new and innovative system of care so that Women who present to the Women’s Hospital experience improved clinical outcomes and excellence in service.


You will be able to:



  • Be exposed to working as a psychologist in a tertiary Hospital with access to professional development, supervision and the clinical psychology registrar program

  • Work together with the other members of the mental health team to ensure that services are provided to meet women’s mental health needs in a timely fashion.

  • Provide capacity building to other non -mental health streams within the Social Model of Women’s Health


About You


You are a Psychologist who holds a Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and an interest working in Perinatal and infant psychology.


You are able to demonstrate a sound understanding of mental health clinical assessment and practice. You also have a passion for mental health. In addition to this you also could bring the following to the role:



  • Commitment to quality clinical care and sound clinical skills

  • An interest to work within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Ability to show initiative

  • Experience developing new processes and procedures that will be necessary in designing a new systems of care


What You Need:



  • General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, through AHPRA.
