Our Ballarat service is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team in a permanent part-time position(20hrs/wk) as a Clinical Trial Co-ordinator (CTC), whilst we continue to grow the service and offer our community world-class care.

Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre (BAROC) is located within the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) and is operated by Austin Health. Ballarat is a vibrant regional hub offering easy access to Melbourne, surf coast shire beaches and the greater Grampians region. - Strong collaborative relationship with the Radiation Oncology team to promote and recruit to applicable trial activities.
- Integration with a range of affiliated services including Medical Oncology, Clinical Trials, and a Wellness centre offering a broad range of support programs to promote our patient’s health in mind, body and spirit.
- Electronic medical record (EMR) using ARIA 15 Oncology Information System.
- Established clinical Trials and research program within BAROC, ensuring our patients are offered world class care.
- Cohesive partnership with our metropolitan site in Heidelberg, enabling cross-campus support, communication and knowledge sharing.
Your role:
This position offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team environment and to support the increasing portfolio of investigator-initiated collaborative clinical trials, predominantly run through Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) to a growing service and region.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the delivery of direct and indirect care and associated data collection for research studies undertaken at BAROC.
- Comply with the requirements of the Institutional Ethics Committee regarding the conduct of clinical research according to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) guidelines for Good Clinical Research Practice (GCRP) and the “International Conference on Harmonization” (ICH) guidelines for Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Provide a key resource in the development of the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework in BAROC. Assist with the development and implementation of a project plan and ensure progress of key milestones are monitored and reported internally.
- Develop and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders within BRICC (eg Medical Oncology Clinical Trials Group) and Austin Health (Radiation Oncology Clinical Trials, Cancer Clinical Trials).
- Ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to patients involved in clinical trials and, where relevant, their families, in partnership with all members of the multidisciplinary and research teams.
