About the role:


Are you handy with a camera? Know your way around Premiere? A bit of a storyteller? Well, Victoria Police's Digital Productions team wants to hear from you! Working within the Media, Communications and Engagement Department, the Communications Advisor (Digital Content) sits within an enthusiastic team developing engaging and innovative video, audio, and design content. You will help deliver digital solutions that directly support frontline police and the wider Victorian community. If you know your 9:16 from your 16:9, this is the job for you.

 The selected applicant will help influence digital strategies in delivering key information across Victoria Police's social media platforms and beyond. Within this role you will enhance your skills in video editing, podcast development, digital production and distribution. Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and support flexible working arrangements, with this role occasionally requiring work outside standard business hours.

Your duties will include:

  • Producing engaging video content

  • Creating cross-platform digital strategies

  • Developing scripts which appeal to broad audiences

  • Staying up to date with latest digital trends

  • Evaluating new story-telling opportunities

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Established content production experience

  • Demonstrated experience using the Adobe Suite (particularly Premiere and Audition),

  • Proven ability to work in a busy high-pressure environment

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills

  • Enthusiasm to develop new skills


Requirements and relevant information:

  • 1 x Fulltime ongoing position

  • The position is located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.

  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
