About the Role

It's an exciting time to join Monash Health's Public Affairs and Communication team. We're working at pace to support the incredible work of Victoria's largest health service when health is at the forefront of everyone's mind.

If you're driven and enthusiastic, love communications, and want to make a real difference in people's lives, this could be the role for you.

You'll be responsible for developing and implementing internal communication strategies that drive improved operational performance, improve employee engagement, and maximise our people's adoption of change.

Working collaboratively across the organisation and our partners, you will provide communication support to our senior executive and clinical/administrative functions. You will be instrumental in building a strategic function that facilitates communication with our 18,000 people and supports our leaders to communicate frequently and with authenticity.

As part of an integrated communications unit, you will also provide leadership and support across a broad range of areas, including web, digital/multimedia, brand and external communications.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide expert communications advice and support to senior leaders and colleagues.

  • Coordinate work and provide leadership, advice, and support to team members working on communication activity.

  • Develop and implement effective communications strategies to support Monash Health's Strategic Plan and arising operational needs.

  • Produce high-quality communication collateral for a variety of audiences (e.g., presentations, emails, speeches, reports, newsletters, intranet copy, signage etc.)

  • Protect the organisation's performance and reputation through risk management and crisis communications when required.

  • Provide feedback and support to stakeholders around the identification and management of key risks and issues associated with any change, providing advice and solutions around issues should they arise.

About You

You love what you do and bring your smile to work.

You hold relevant qualifications in communications or similar, supported by strong technical expertise, and have a track record of success in implementing internal communications programs to effectively engage stakeholders.

An inspiring, honest and open people leader, you work supportively and collaboratively at both strategic and tactical levels. Your personal style enables you to build rapport, credibility and trust quickly, and you are adept at managing stakeholders, issues and reputation.

A superior communicator, you are comfortable working with ambiguity and in environments of constant change, high scrutiny and high demand. You are known for developing and executing effective, creative, results-driven communications strategies aligned with tangible business objectives.
