  • Join the Mental Health newly formed Community Acute Intervention Service outreach team

  • Provide acute community assessment and treatment for people in the acute phase of their mental illness and / or alcohol and other drug use.

  • Rostering across two shifts (0830-1700hrs and 1330-2200hrs) seven days a week.


About the facility 


Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) provide integrated and recovery orientated mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and / or drug and alcohol issues, and their families.


The Community Acute Intervention Service provides timely and effective assessment, treatment and assertive support for individuals aged 16 years and older with high acuity mental health and / or AOD needs over a 0-28 day period.


About the role 


We are seeking dynamic, highly motivated clinicians to be part of the Community Acute Intervention Service outreach team. You will provide community assessment and treatment for people in the acute phase of their mental illness and / or alcohol and other drug (AOD) use.


Duties include but are not limited to:



  • Provision of short-term (28 days) intensive mental health and AOD treatment using evidence-based practices.

  • Referrals and linkages to appropriate support options.

  • Facilitation of admissions to an inpatient or residential setting (PARC) as clinically indicated.

  • Provision of culturally appropriate and family inclusive services responsive to individual needs.

  • Provision of secondary consultation and advice to health professionals in the region.
