Be part of Victoria's once-in-a generation energy transition!

As the State's ageing coal-fired power stations retire in the coming decades, they are being replaced with renewables. Our electricity system must also change to carry energy from where it is generated to where it is needed.

Shifting to renewable energy will deliver affordable, reliable and secure electricity. It will also help us deal with climate change by reducing our emissions.

To achieve these goals, VicGrid is coordinating the overarching planning and development of the following renewable energy zones (REZ) in Victoria. As part of this, VicGrid is building a new Project Delivery branch to support the development and delivery of transmission infrastructure projects (or non-network alternatives) within the REZs.

The Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer, Project Delivery contributes to best practice strategies and frameworks for community and stakeholder engagement in relation to transmission infrastructure projects. This is to enable earlier and deeper engagement with communities and build effective social licence, consistent with the objectives for community and stakeholder engagement in the Preliminary Victorian Transmission Investment Framework (VTIF).

The Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer, Project Delivery assists in implementing tailored engagement strategies for a broad range of stakeholders (including local communities and landholders), developing collateral to support the strategies and liaising with proponents during project delivery to implement the strategies as required throughout the project lifecycle.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in stakeholder engagement, media, or public relations.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement highly valued.
  • Experience in developing promotional and communication materials highly valued.

These are fixed term positions available until 30 June 2025. The work location for these positions is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.

To be considered for these positions, applicants are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter (no longer than 2 pages) summarising their skills and relevant experience.

For further information please refer to the attached position description.

Applications close at midnight on Tuesday, 28 March 2023.
