  • About the Role

    We are seeking Community Carers to join the CGH team of Community Carers in Wellington Shire. Our team supports older clients, vulnerable clients and those living with a disability to remain living independently at home by providing excellent care and services. The CGH approach to providing these services is to place the client at the centre of their care and support them to achieve their personal goals.

    We have Part Time and Casual positions available including traineeship opportunities for those interested in undertaking Certificate III in Individual Support.  If you’re already studying towards this we welcome you to apply also.

    About Central Gippsland Health

    Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

    CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

    CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

    Duties

    • Assisting clients with domestic assistance which includes cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors; ironing and washing clothes; moving light furniture; bed making; and assistance with meal preparation
    • Provide personal care including assistance with showering, bathing, dressing/undressing, toileting, grooming; assisting with medications, eating and drinking; transporting
    • Provide respite care in the client’s home or other appropriate setting
    • Provide accompanied activities to support client in maintaining social connections including shopping, group activities, community outings
    • Assist clients with medication self administrations

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    • Certificate III or Certificate IV in Community Services/Individual Support (or working towards a qualification)
    • Current Victorian Driver’s license
    • Own vehicle (travel allowance will be paid)
    • NDIS Worker Check Clearance
