Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is the major provider of specialist health services in the Gippsland region, east of Melbourne.  LRH is the regional provider of mental health services in Gippsland. LRH Mental Health Service operates an integrated specialist mental health program across the region and provides inpatient and community mental health care for adults, children and young people and older persons.

This position will be based in Orbost, which is a historic tourist town located in the heart of Snowy River country. There is a well known local brewery known as Sailors Grave. There is also great access to many bush walking trails. Orbost is in close proximity to Marlo and Cape Conran, for those who love beaches, surfing, estuary fishing, and other water sports. The Snowy River National Park is nearby, with its tall forests, and Little River Gorge (Victoria's deepest Gorge). 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Community Clinician join the Community Mental Health Service team  on a Full-time, Fixed Term Basis. The position is located in Orbost and is working in the community with consumers with mental illnesses.

Reporting to the Manager Mental Health East Gippsland the successful applicant will play an important role in provision of a comprehensive assessment of needs for referred clients, their family and carers.

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

• Registered Nurse Division 1* or 3. OR Degree or Diploma of a recognised school of Occupational Therapy or to be eligible to be a member of the Victorian Association of Occupational Therapists or Full general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (this does not include "provisional" registration) or Degree or Diploma in Social Work eligibility or other qualification acceptable for membership to AASW.

• Current Victorian Driver’s License and be prepared to undertake a National Police Check

• Current Working with Children’s Check

• Computer literacy skills
