About the team

The Bendigo Adult Community Mental Health team is an integrated and multidisciplinary team, delivering 5 day a week community care to persons 24 – 64, providing a case management response to individual patients. Treatment is recovery focused and provided during all stages of illness.

As well as providing proactive treatment and support in the community setting, lead clinicians remain involved in the care, treatment discharge planning of their patients throughout any inpatient and/ or residential admissions.


About the position

Reporting to the Manager, Bendigo Adult Community Mental Health, you will provide psychiatric triage, intake, assessment and treatment, psycho-education and support for patients of Psychiatric Services and their families/ Carer(s). About you

We are on the hunt for a seasoned individual who can demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience and ability in community based assessment, support and treatment of people with a mental illness

  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 & Psychiatric Service Frameworks Procedures and Guidelines

  • Proven ability to liaise and consult with relevant family members, team members and a broad range of health professionals and community agencies

  • Commitment to an integrated community-bases treatment model for people with a mental illness

  • Post graduate qualifications, or working towards, in mental health and or related field

  • Current registration as Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or; Social Worker – membership, or meets the eligibility requirements for membership, with the Australian Association of Social Work.
