Community -  Mental Health Clinicians

Are you an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychologist or Mental Health Nurse looking for a rewarding career in mental health?

Do you want to be part of shaping the next 20 years of delivering the highest quality mental health care in Victoria?

Thoughts from an early career Mental Health Clinician:   “Working at Eastern Health has been a rewarding experience, as I have continued to thrive in a multidisciplinary team with likeminded colleagues, who share a common goal of equipping vulnerable children and families with support for a better trajectory and improved social, emotional and behavioural wellbeing. As a clinician, I have had the opportunity to build on my skills as a case manager, in addition to attending an array of professional developments about trauma and interventions to strengthen functioning. I have also thoroughly enjoyed developing my own understanding of complex client presentations and working collaboratively with other services in the community to improve the mental health of consumers”.

We are seeking to transform the way we work to support our community and substantially expand our services by aligning with the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.  We have opportunities in our Adult & Older Adult streams.

Eastern Health

Eastern Health is a dual winner of the Premier’s Health Service of the year award and one of Melbourne’s largest health services.

Eastern Health provides healthcare services across 2816 square kilometres, the largest geographical areas of any metropolitan health service in Victoria with sites in Box Hill, Ringwood, Upper Ferntree Gully, Healesville, Wantirna, Lilydale and Burwood.  Eastern Health workforce is made up of approximately 11,000 staff and 600 volunteers with representation from 101 nationalities.

Eastern Health and the Mental Health Program is a strong partner within the community and with the leading Victorian Universities including Melbourne, Monash, Latrobe and Deakin Universities.

Mental Health Program

Eastern Health’s Mental Health Program is a leader in care delivery, innovation, research and education.

The Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Service works in partnership with consumers (aged 26+), carers, families and other service providers, to provide high quality mental health assessments, clinical case management and therapeutic interventions, within a recovery oriented model of care, alongside the provision of discipline specific clinical work.  The model of care includes working in close collaboration with family and carers as well as in the partnership with a range of community services to support the consumer’s recovery journey.  The Older Adult speciality stream provides a range of specialist treatments to support people with a complex mixture of psychological, cognitive, functional, behavioural, physical and social problems usually related to ageing.
