Casey Hospital Emergency Department serves the rapidly expanding community of the City of Casey, Cranbourne and the Shire of Cardinia; one of the fastest growing communities in Australia. Casey Hospital ED has sees over 65,000 patients annually with a growth rate of 12%. The Hospital has just completed a large redevelopment and opened an adult Intensive Care Unit in order to keep the sickest of our local population close to home.

The hospital is located in Berwick, a thriving satellite city with public, private and selective entry secondary schools, sporting teams and clubs and easy access to both the beautiful and picturesque Dandenong Ranges and the Mornington Peninsula.

About the Role

As an emergency physician at Casey Hospital ED, support and assist the Director of the Director of the Emergency Department, in the provision of high quality Emergency Department services at Casey Hospital, consistent with the Monash Health values.

On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for your team of doctors in caring for patients who present to our facility. We care for day old babes to patients over 100 years old; all clinical groups of presentations are have access to our care from cradle to grave. Our diverse team is also responsible for a large 26 bed short stay unit, urgent transfer medicine and trauma care. Each emergency physician has an expectation of a clinical support portfolio in order to assist the Director in management of such a large unit. Directly reportable to the Director, new applicant with an interest or further qualifications in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Ambulatory Care Medicine will be at an advantage

  • Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of high quality, multidisciplinary  team, appropriate
  • Access to Emergency services, open communication, collaborative working relationships and professional behaviours at all times
  • Duties as outlined in the relevant Enterprise Agreement

About You 

We are seeking a vibrant, energetic, and dynamic Emergency Physician(s) who can work well with a team of 35 FACEM and over 150 nurses and ancillary staff. A person who thrives on hard work and can think through problems with speed and insight.

What You Need:

Emergency Physician recognition and registration through AHPRA and current WWC certificate

  • ACEM or equivalent
  • Paediatric or Ambulatory Care experience preferable
