We are seeking an enthusiastic CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST who is interested in improving health outcomes across the general hospital setting.  We are seeking someone who relishes the complex and rewarding work of a liaison psychiatrist within a multidisciplinary team. 

Details of position:

  • Hours per week: 17.5 hours/week

  • Employment Status:  Permanent Fractional 

The successful applicant will have a detailed knowledge of consultation liaison psychiatry as demonstrated by experience and/or advanced certificate from RANZCP.  The role requires experience with a variety of liaison psychiatry settings and capacity to build professional relationships between liaison psychiatry and the general hospital.  The ability to work with medical and surgical teams to achieve optimal health outcomes for patients is required.  Child and Adolescent Psychiatry experience or expertise is desirable, but not essential.

To be successful for this role you must:

  • Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

    • Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)], or equivalent

    • Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Psychiatry

    • Current RANZCP CBFP supervisor accreditation.

    • Demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care

    • Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe and quality care across the continuum

    • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training and research, and

    • Must hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC Check) in compliance with the Working with Children Act 2005.
