Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI) is the Department of Radiology at Barwon Health and has six imaging sites located across Geelong including comprehensive imaging at University Hospital Geelong, University Hospital Geelong Building B, McKellar Centre North Geelong and Barwon Health North, providing approximately 200,000 imaging exams per year for the hospital and community patients
About the role
The Region’s only dedicated IR Interventional Service
Barwon Medical Imaging provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services including X-Ray, OPG, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine, whilst also supporting the region with a dedicated IR interventional on-call service – which operates from the main CBD campus at University Hospital Geelong.
As an Interventional Radiologist you will have opportunity to undertake a range of vascular and non-vascular intervention including treatment of peripheral arterial disease, embolisation for bleeding, radio/chemo embolisation, microwave ablation and percutaneous biopsy.
A component of diagnositc rostering will also enable you to maintain your general or sub-speciality reporting skills and provide further teaching opportunities with our registrars in training.
As the largest imaging provider in the region, BMI utilises State of the Art imaging equipment - supported by a dedicated and highly multi-disciplinary team of registrars, imaging technologists, nurses, administration and Patient Services Assistants.
