Content Producer - VPS 3.1 - Ongoing - Full-time We’re on the hunt for a talented Content Producer who will use their excellent written skills and creativity to share the stories of State Library Victoria’s collections, programs and services on our digital platforms. With a strong understanding of user experience and the ability to bring content to life, the Content Producer will help elevate the Library’s brand, strengthen engagement and drive online and onsite visitation.

With a strong understanding of user experience and the ability to bring content to life, the Content Producer will help elevate the Library's brand, strengthen engagement and drive online and onsite visitation.

About us:

Established in 1856 as ‘the people's university', State Library Victoria is Australia's oldest and busiest public library and the fourth most-visited library in the world, attracting those with curious minds and serious researchers alike. A place of learning and discovery for all Victorians, the Library houses items that showcase Victoria's cultural life, past and present, and makes them available through a range of services, exhibitions and cultural programs. It is home to more than two million books and thousands of newspapers as well as historic manuscripts, music, pictures and ephemera, with a focus on material from Victoria. Each year, more than 70,000 heritage items are added to its collection.

About the role:

The Content Producer is responsible for sourcing, developing, creating and publishing content across the Library's digital platforms with the aim of growing online and onsite audiences, deepening engagement and elevating our brand.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Source, create and publish high-quality, well-researched and engaging content that reflects brand principles for the Library's website
  • Write, research and edit content that reflects brand tone of voice and contributes to a positive user experience
  • Work with people from across the organisation to amplify the Library's stories, collections, services and programs
  • Use data insights to enhance the online user experience

About you


You will have:

  • Solid experience writing engaging web content reflecting brand principles
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms and sound knowledge of CMS tools
  • Excellent written skills – you will be a creative, dynamic and adaptive writer with a good eye for stories
  • The ability to multi-task and project manage your time autonomously
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills
