A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Harness Racing Victoria for an experienced Customer Service Representative who is passionate about delivering outstanding service to our valued customers and participants.

About us

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is a statutory body whose role is to oversee all harness racing activity in Victoria. With strong links to rural and regional communities, we are committed to developing a vibrant and sustainable harness racing industry which promotes participation, integrity and racing excellence. 

HRV also operates a world class race track and entertainment complex, Tabcorp Park located in Melton (hotel, functions, bars and gaming) which is central to harness racing enthusiasts, clubs and communities in Victoria.

The Opportunity

HRV has an exciting opportunity within our Flemington Head Office for a Customer Service Representative, reporting into the Customer Service Manager.

Working as part of a great team in an established and respected, fun, organisation, we are seeking an experienced, engaging and highly motivated person with a passion and commitment to help others through the provision of accurate, efficient and friendly service.

As one of the first points of contact with HRV, either through direct contact or through phone, letter or email enquiries, this key role is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service that results in creating a great experience for our valued customers and participants. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with customers on a daily basis, responding to questions and guiding them.
  • Co-ordinate and support the promotion and deal with the necessary administration of various events as guided by the Manager
  • Ensure all documentation is accurately completed in advance of Australian Premier Trotting sales and similar.
  • Support internal stakeholders as required from time to time
  • As part of continuous improvement, review, recommend and contribute to improving policies and processes.
  • Coverage of Reception as required from time to time – including management and distribution of correspondence
  • Completing required stakes payments, customer invoicing, receipting of payments, licensing, registrations.

 About You

Ideally, we are seeking an applicant who meets the following criteria:

  • Successfully completed their final year at secondary school
  • 2+ years customer service experience in a team environment
  • Excellent computer skills including advanced skills in MS Office applications
  • Attention to detail, follow through, efficient and accurate
  • Able to work with changing priorities and variety
  • Sound persuasion and negotiation skills
