  • Annual Salary Range: $70,791 - $85,956 per annum plus superannuation
  • Tenure: Fixed Term (6 months)

The People and Business Services Division provides business enabling people and corporate services functions, to drive a high-performance culture and to support integrated operations.

 

About the Opportunity

The Data Analyst is responsible for the analysis and translation of people, safety, employment, biographical and organisational workforce data. A key feature of this role is to collect, analyse and translate HR data in response to requests from across the Transport department and portfolio.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collate, review and analyse people and safety data collected from various sources across the department and portfolio i.e. people data, diversity information, safety data, risk and audit reports, and various surveys.
  • Analyse and translate data into a format that can be understood and interpreted with the purpose of communicating to a broad audience.
  • Extract and prepare data from HR and other corporate systems for various HR reporting requirements and analysis where required.
  • Respond to reporting requests submitted by the business and provide support to stakeholders as required.
  • Exercise professional judgement about the application of policies and procedures, or the selection of choices within these.

 

About you:

  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical ability. Ability to translate, communicate and display data in a way that is creative and easy to understand.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver quality, accurate HR reporting and analysis to address the department's needs.
  • Problem-solving skills. Seeks all relevant information for problem solving; investigates and probes for the facts; liaises with stakeholders; analyses issues from information available; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems.
  • High level of attention to detail, with proven initiative and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships and confidently communicate in a clear and concise manner.

 

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant or a related discipline.
  • Strong HR reporting capabilities
  • Advanced skills in Excel
