POSITION SUMMARY

An exciting opportunity exists for a Data Analyst on a Fixed Term basis in the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector.
The Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector was established following the passage of the Act. The Act requires all Victorian public sector entities to report on and improve outcomes against a range of gender equality indicators and consider the gendered impacts of policies, programs and services.
The Commission supports the Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner to oversee implementation and operation of the Act and promote gender equality in the public sector workforce and broader Victorian community.
The Commissioner assists entities to fulfil their obligations under the Act through education and the provision of guidance materials and support mechanisms. The Commissioner also has dispute resolution functions under the Act and is responsible for overseeing compliance.
As a Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in the operationalisation and ongoing administration of the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic) (Act). You will use data to help generate engagement, understanding and long-term cultural change.
The role requires a proactive self-starter with a good understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast paced environment.
The successful candidate will have the ability to collect, analyse and translate complex data, communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, deliver a range of tasks under pressure, and work well in a team environment. Experience in and/or understanding of using data to drive social policy outcomes, in particular gender equality, would be an advantage.
