Role: Data Scientist, Modelling and Analytics (Role until - 30 June 2021)

Position Summary: 

  • Situated within the Modelling and Analytics team within the COVID 19 Public Health Division , the analyst position plays a critical role in providing the knowledge and expertise of COVID 19 disease dynamics.
  • Work with the COVID 19 team developing statistical models to answer key policy questions
  • Provides technical statistical advice and support to the DIME Branch and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives
  • Conduct research, analysis and implementation of complex projects based on defined outcomes and outputs
  • Conduct projects and be accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters
  • Monitor and evaluat e projects to ensure departmental objectives are met
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements
  • Lead and manage staff, providing pro j ect management leadership, expert advice and guidance to team members, including the planning, delegation and quality assurance of work, management of performance and mentoring of staff.
