About us:

The VICNISS Coordinating Centre is an independent centre fully funded by the Department of Human Services, Victoria to coordinate surveillance of healthcare associated infections in Victoria. The centre is recognised as a leader in the surveillance of healthcare associated infections and consists of a multidisciplinary team including infectious disease physicians, infection control nurses along with epidemiology/ biostatistics and information technology staff.

Your new role:

We are seeking a candidate who can combine a developer role with database administration. The Database Developer/Administrator will be responsible for developing, testing, improving, and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively. In addition, overseeing the performance, availability, integrity, and security of VICNISS's database portfolio.

About you:

  • You will have a relevant IT degree or industry certification
  • You will have advanced knowledge and experience in relational databases, SQL and query performance tuning
  • You will have experience across the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS,SSRS,SSAS) and experience with reporting tools (SQL reporting services and/or Power BI)
  • Experience in database design and modelling for data warehouse and business intelligence applications, including relational database structures and normal forms
  • You have excellent communication and organisational skills and the capacity to work effectively as a member of a team
