About the role

South West Dental Service has exciting opportunities for Dental Assistants to join the clinics located in Warrnambool and Camperdown (Manifold Place) Community Health Centres. The Warrnambool based position is full time and the Camperdown based position is part time (64 hours per fortnight). Both positions are available from March 2020 until March 2021.

Dental Assistants assist with direct chair side client care in accordance with South West Healthcare and DHSV clinical standards and policies. The roles will also assist with the administration of the office and computer systems.

These positions are based in the clinics as stated above, however travel to the other locations may be required. 

What you bring

It is expected that the successful applicants will have experience with both Dental Assisting and administrative/reception skills, demonstrated high level of clinical competence, knowledge and understanding of the required applications and procedures, and knowledge of dental public health principles. An ability to work under pressure and in a team environment as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills is also required.  A Certificate III in Dental Assisting or a willingness to obtain is essential. All applicants must have a current motor vehicle licence.

Employment Terms and Conditions will be in line with the Victorian Public Health Sector (Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2016-202, with the appropriate classification Dental Assistant Grade 1 or 2.
