Developer (ServiceNow)

  • $102,637 – $124,183 (Plus Superannuation)

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) was established to ensure Victoria's strong economic performance by growing industries and regions. The department supports a range of diverse portfolios and operates across metropolitan, regional and international offices.

Reporting to the Project Manager within DJPR's Information Service branch, the Developer (ServiceNow) will contribute to the planning, designing, creation, amending, verification, testing and documentation of new and amended software components in order to deliver agreed value to stakeholders. You will be optimistic about the power of design and technology to tackle the complex and interconnected problems facing the department of the day.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills, client-focused approach.

Ideally you will have the following experience or qualifications:

  • Appropriate vocation qualifications and certifications, e.g. Project Management, Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service Management or Change Management are highly desirable.
  • A relevant tertiary/certificate qualification is desirable
  • ServiceNow qualification/certification would be highly regarded

The key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Undertakes the design and delivery of system or changes in collaboration with business stakeholders and architects, analysts and testers using agile methodologies.
  • Contributes to thought leadership and best practice for engineering and development to deliver continuous improvement, transform the ICT landscape and delivering business value.  
  • Provides subject matter advice in engineering and development, to the cross-functional teams on engineering and development, ensuring departmental compliance and benefits realisation.
  • Contributes to developed systems and services being extensible, resilient and reliable, meeting standards and maintaining relevant code repositories and tests.
  • Contributes technical expertise and delivers IT processes including issue and problem management, incident resolution, automation, testing and agile story/task delivery.
