About the Role


This position is part of the large and dynamic Health Promotion team, which sits within the Population Health and Partnerships team as part of Monash Health Community. The Health Promotion team works across the local Government areas of Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia to implement a range of place based initiatives in accordance with the Integrated Health Promotion Plan, and support Health Promotion within Monash Health.The successful candidate will also work with Monash Health Community Communications and Marketing Lead to support communications and marketing within the Health Promotion Team.This is a permanent position and will be based at Dandenong and Cranbourne sites once onsite work resumes post COVID restrictions. Travel will be expected across multiple sites.

About You


You are an experienced and positive systems thinker with experience in engaging key stakeholders across a range of sectors on public health nutrition issues. You are self motivated, have the ability to work flexibly, and have a commitment to working in an innovative way. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and ideally have experience in communications and/ or marketing.


What are the skills and experience required?



  • A tertiary qualification in dietetics/nutrition or equivalent

  • At least two years relevant work experience in public health nutrition and/or health promotion is required.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Health Promotion core competencies, complex systems theory and working from a settings/place based approach

  • A demonstrated high level of motivation, willingness to learn and ability to adapt to changing roles and relationships.

  • Experience in building strong and mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships in a variety of settings

  • Awareness of current state government public health strategies, guidelines and actions, particularly as related to healthy eating 

  • Experience in Communications and/or Marketing is desirable
