About the role

The Dietitian is responsible for the provision of quality client-focused care across the Transition Care Program at Eastern Health. The Grade 2 Clinician will demonstrate an advanced level of experience, knowledge and skill in the complex area of older persons.

Clinical activity for the dietitian includes direct therapy services, as well as liaison with families and contracted providers. The role may also include education, student supervision, quality improvement, and service development activities.

The Grade 2 role requires autonomy of practice, whilst also contributing strongly to the multidisciplinary team. It is an expectation that the Grade 2 clinician will provide high quality assessments and interventions, to maximise the wellbeing, safety and quality of life of Transition Care Program clients.

The dietitian reports to the TCP Operations Manager or delegate and closely liaises with the Dietetics team at Eastern Health.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics, Master of Dietetics, or recognised equivalent.


• Eligibility for membership of Dietitians Australia (DA) and the Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) program


• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence


• Minimum two years’ clinical experience in advanced dietetics.


• Demonstrated best practice in client assessment and intervention, including evidence of advanced clinical skills and client centred practice, community food access, quality programming and food safety practices.


• Demonstrated special interest and/or experience in working with older adults


• High level communication skills, both written and oral


• Demonstrated capacity to work / show leadership in a multidisciplinary team


• Experience in supervision of students and/or staff


• Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities


• Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct
