DIGITAL PATHOLOGY REFORM - PROJECT COORDINATOR
North East Pathology Network (NEPN)
The Department of Health (DH) is working with Victorian public pathology providers in transforming the sector into networks of public pathology services. The aim is to strengthen the service provision, improve collaboration and coordination of pathology service provision across the public pathology sector, supporting innovation and research.
In November 2020, the Victorian Government announced that public pathology laboratories in Victoria will be transformed into three networks (South-East, West and North-East networks) and to support this the North East Pathology Network (NEPN) comprising of Austin Pathology, Eastern Pathology and Northern Pathology are progressing a number of joint activities to:
• Support more consistent patient care through integrated and harmonised processes
• Seamless sharing of pathology results and workload balancing across laboratories within the NEPN
• More productive and efficient pathology business services, including enabling access to integrated and comprehensive patient pathology results in a timely way
• Enabling improved quality of care and enabling more coordinated care across the NEPN
• Greater cost-effectiveness in the supply and ongoing service of the LIS, enabling greater investment by the NEPN in the expansion of services, research and innovation
In 2021, the NEPN LISConnect Program () commenced with an aim to identify, procure and plan for the implementation of a single integrated network Laboratory Information System (LIS) for the NEPN.
Although in the early stages of the ramping up the role advertised will come onboard to work closely with members of the Project Leadership Team including the Technical Lead, Change Management and Communications Lead, Technical Lead, Testing Lead and Training Lead - as well as Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) from other network participants and multiple vendors as the project incrementally ramps up.
About the role
The Project and Contracts Support Coordinator is expected to provide support for the project planning, coordination of activities and support for the procurement processing required to onboard resources and vendors who will be involved with the projects. It is expected that the person in this role will take onboard initiating and administrating the projects repositories and collaboration tools along with administration, meeting support, documentation management and other support duties as required for the project. The project commences part time and will ramp up to full time with the intention to be extended to support the remainder of the project
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Essential
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities
• Experience in project administration in an Information Technology environment
• Working within a team environment
• Experience working on a project in a complex environment ideally with the experience to understand the need for flexible and adaptable work ethic
• A record of success in working with and a diverse group of people requiring support
• Experience in liaising and communicating with key project stakeholders on behalf of the project to achieve desired outcomes.
• Knowledge of different project management tools such as Teams, MS Project, Trello. JIRA
• Experience in using and supporting documents repository would be advantageous

• Well-developed problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills
• Well-developed personal and work organisation skills
• Effective time management capabilities
• Reliable for timely and high-quality outcomes
• Flexible to changes in work requirements and priorities
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
