POSITION SUMMARY

An exciting opportunity exists for a Direct Care Worker (4 x Positions Available) on a Fixed Term basis within the Secure Care Services Team.

 

Direct Care Workers provide high quality care, supervision, security and safety to children and adolescents who are placed at the Secure Care units .

 

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Ability to supervise, support, motivate and engage, individually and as a group, constructively with children and young people who have experienced significant trauma and act as a positive role model.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with children and young people; understanding of child and adolescent development and the impact of abuse, neglect and trauma; understanding of a therapeutic approach and behaviour management techniques appropriate to managing this client group.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate IV Community Services, Youth Work or equivalent is desirable.

Required:

  • Senior First Aid/CPR or willing to obtain prior to commencement of role
  • A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS POLICY
