About the Medicine Program at Casey Hospital
Casey Hospital provides a wide range of health services to people living and working in Berwick and surrounding areas. Delivering inpatient and outpatient services across the continuum of care, we provide emergency, intensive care, acute medical/surgical, maternity, mental health, paediatric and specialty services.
As the result of an internal move, we are now looking to appoint a highly motivated, experienced senior leader as Director, Clinical Operations (DCO) across our General Medicine Wards. This is a permanent, ongoing role.
About the role
Reporting to the Site General Manager/Director of Nursing, you’ll partner with the DCO Surgery and the DCO Emergency and Access & Flow, to deliver on all site and program service objectives and outcomes. As a key member of the Site Leadership team, you’ll oversee operational clinical services within three acute medical wards at Casey Hospital and will also directly manage the Diabetes Nurse Educators at that site, 2.0 EFT.
Accountable for the clinical, professional and financial performance of the areas within the role’s function, ensuring the delivery of consistently high quality, effective and efficient patient care, you wil be responsible for managing eight people who fill around 5.0 EFT across the Casey site.
With operational support from Nurse Managers and clinical teams, you will actively foster an environment of evidence-based practice and will play a lead role in promoting, building and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. You will participate in the executive on-call roster as needed.

What you need:
A Master’s (or higher) qualification is desirable.
