About Perioperative Services at Monash Health

The Surgical and Interventional Services Program provides surgical services with 24/7 theatres at Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital and Monday to Friday theatres at Moorabbin and Cranbourne Hospitals.  There are 24/7 endoscopy procedural suites at Clayton and Dandenong with an additional Monday to Friday procedure room at Casey Hospital. The program completed 45,000 elective procedures (including endoscopy) and 15,800 acute procedures over all sites in FY 2019-2020

The Surgery & Interventional Services Program at Monash Health are seeking an experienced leader to manage their large and complex Perioperative Services Program.

About the Role

The Director of Clinical Operations – Perioperative Services (Casey, Cranbourne, Moorabbin, MH Endoscopy) is a key role within the Surgery & Interventional Services Program and a member of the Surgical Program Executive:

  • Theroleisresponsiblefordeliveryofperioperativekeyperformanceindicators;ensuringSurgeryand Perioperative Services units deliver on key performance, financial, quality and safety indicators

  • Working with the General Manager, ensuring the theatre and perioperative workforce, development and culture meets the service demands across Monash Health for both elective and emergency flows

  • Working with the program leadership, this role is responsible for the Transforming Care and Resourcing Excellence agenda within the perioperative environment; as well as supporting the Program site responsibilities at Dandenong Hospital

  • Developing models of care and service optimisation in line with identified challenges in thatenvironment

About You

You demonstrate a genuine passion for the Surgical/Perioperative space and are an accomplished Manager in this field.  As a high achiever, you have proven your ability to deliver successful outcomes across service delivery, resource management, and people management. Your communication and influencing skills are exceptional and enable you to build rapport readily and to develop lasting and effective collaborative working relationships at all levels.

Your previous experience in Perioperative Services equips you with an intricate understanding of the relevant processes and flow.  Thriving in a busy fast paced environment, you are flexible to adapt quickly to any changes.  You have change management skills to implement/support new clinical management structures and models of care, that ensure streamlined and effective access to services.

You are also:

What you need:

  • RegisteredNurse (RN)with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia viaAHPRA

  • Recent leadership and management experience demonstrating the appropriate competencies andskills

  • Post graduate qualificationin a health, nursing, management, leadership or business related field (or working towards the same)- highlydesirable 

  • Current and satisfactory employee Working With Children Check as per Working With Children Act2005

  • Current and satisfactory Police Check (must also comply with Aged Care Act 1997 Accountability Amendment Principles 2012 if working in Aged Caresettings)

  • Current Victorian DriversLicence
