About the Office of Projects Victoria

The Office of Projects Victoria (OPV) leads and influences excellence in project delivery so projects are delivered on time and on budget, and the full benefits of the investment are realised for Victorians. OPV does this by providing trusted independent advice to the Victorian Government. The organisation provides project portfolio oversight and assurance, improvements to how projects are delivered, independent advice and targeted support, training, and advice to project leaders.

About the role

This pivotal role will provide design and engineering advice on high value and high-risk projects in the government sector. This role will assist with building the capability and capacity of the engineering profession. The successful person will be responsible for implementing and conducting due diligence on system wide engineering and policy initiatives providing design and engineering guidance to enhance project delivery and performance. The Director Engineering will be responsible for leading a team including engineers towards the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects.

About you

You have extensive and proven experience in design and engineering, asset management and project management across a wide range of sectors, ideally government. You have a successful record of accomplishment in the design, construction, and operation of assets, complemented with practical experience in implementing process or continuous improvement initiatives at a systemic level. You have well-developed interpersonal skills that enable you to build relationships with and manage a range of stakeholders. You can demonstrate leadership behaviours to motivate and lead a team of high performing professionals.
