As a key member of the leadership team, the Finance Director will report on all matters pertaining to good financial practice in line with relevant legislation and government policies. Leading a small team, the Finance Director will provide vision and leadership of group financial management, service delivery and asset performance in support of performance improvements. The role will lead the planning and implementation of budget, financial, advisory and compliance strategies across the organisation.

About the organisation

The Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Group (MWRRG) plays a central role within Victoria's rapidly evolving resource recovery, recycling and waste management sectors. Working closely with state government, local governments, partner organisations and the private sector, the MWRRG acts as a critical commercial link between each, leveraging state-level buying power and specialist technical expertise to deliver improved service delivery and infrastructure development outcomes for waste management and resource recovery across Victoria.

 About you

CA/CPA qualified, you are a high calibre finance leader who is motivated, pro-active, and outcome focused. You have excellent communication skills with a strong understanding of contemporary public sector financial management and internal control strategies, frameworks and issues. This is demonstrated in your track record of achievement in managing and resolving complex financial issues through to successful completion.
