DELWP / Forest and Fire Operations Division (FFOD)

The Forest Fire and Regions Group within the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) works in partnership with all fire and emergency management agencies to support the operational implementation of Safer Together: a new approach to reducing the risk of bushfire in Victoria.

Forest and Fire Operations Division (FFOD) delivers state forest management operations and fire management operations on public land and supports Regional Directorates to deliver priority programs and projects. The division also supports the Chief Fire Officer in leading Forest Fire Management Victoria's command and control arrangements for fire and emergency response and planned burning operations.

Director Forest Management

The Director Forest Management will ensure the Division delivers Victorian Government priorities and commitments in partnership with key stakeholders, including Parks Victoria and Traditional Owners to meet the Group, Department and Ministerial requirements in a high quality and timely manner.    

You will lead the delivery of high-profile government programs including ‘Victoria's Great Outdoors' and other tourism and recreation projects on Victoria's state forests and oversee the planning and delivery of forest and land management programs and operational strategies. You will govern strategic recreation asset management across Victoria's state forests and develop initiatives that enhance recreation and nature based tourism in state forests that promote positive social and economic outcomes alongside environmental outcomes.
