Position Summary:

The Director, Intergovernmental Relations is responsible for the provision of strategic advice to the Secretary, other senior executives and Ministers on interjurisdictional health and human services policy issues, including the negotiation of funding agreements with the Commonwealth. This includes developing and pursuing a strategic approach to interjurisdictional matters through sound analysis, innovative thinking and collaborative engagement at the national and state level to influence national policy agendas, and support Victoria's role in relation to national bodies.

In the current state of emergency, the Director, Intergovernmental Relations oversees the department's advice on all COVID-19 public health items considered by National Cabinet.  Intergovernmental Relations also supports Ministers, the Secretary and the Associate Secretary to engage in intergovernmental forums that relate directly to the national COVID-19 response, across the health, disability, aged care and community services portfolios.
