About the Judicial College of Victoria

The College exists to inform and enrich the Victorian judiciary. Everything we do, whether in-person or online, is designed to impart knowledge and insight. We support judges, magistrates, coroners and tribunal members to develop the skills they need to perform at their best.

About the Role

In an exciting period of transformation and growth, the Director develops and brings to fruition the College's suite of judicial education for Victorian judicial officers, as well as priority education initiatives and projects. They lead and develop a team of committed professionals to ensure smooth, timely and effective service delivery, fostering a sense of common purpose to achieve strategic priorities including the expansion of digital education.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director provides authoritative and trusted advice and direction on education, innovation and best practice. They exercise specialist expertise in educational design for judicial audiences and engage effective consultation and evaluation techniques to ensure that the College's educational content and products meet the needs of the judiciary.

About the Director

The Director has extensive senior leadership experience in education, legal practice and/or legal settings. They are an experienced and highly motivated people leader with the ability to transform strategic goals into operational reality. Skilled at fostering collaboration and practised in thoughtful and effective management, they have the ability to set direction in a changing environment.

The Director also has demonstrated expertise in educational design and development, underpinned by a sound understanding of adult learning principles. They have a broad knowledge and deep understanding of the challenges facing the Victorian judiciary and stay familiar with developments in the law, skills, social context and contemporary issues relevant to courts and tribunals.

With a reputation for influential leadership and a passion for effecting cultural change through education, they are perfectly suited to lead the College's judicial education into the future.
