About the facility 


Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West Region.  It is Victoria’s largest regional health services with one of the busiest Hospital’s in the State, University Hospital Geelong.  We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 7,500 staff and more than 1,200 volunteers.  We provide care at all stages of life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care and subacute/rehabilitation.  Care is provide to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.


Our Emergency Department, located at the University Hospital Geelong site, provides care for approximately 80,000 emergency presentations per year.  The Emergency Department has both an adult and paediatric short stay unit to ensure consumers receive the right care, at the right place, at the right time.


About the role 


We are seeking an experienced Emergency Physician to lead the Emergency Department team to deliver timely, quality care.


You will:



  • foster innovation and application of evidenced based practice in a challenging but rewarding environment.  

  • Mentor staff and encourage situational and strategic clinical leadership.  

  • Create a culture of teamwork and trust between professional groups in emergency care and with other areas of the health service and external health providers

  • deliver safe, effective, patient centred and responsive care to all consumers and safe and rewarding environment for all emergency staff
