Director, Procurement

Transform and drive a dynamic Procurement function at Victoria Police that will focus on delivering strategic commercial value and customer service.

The Procurement Division provides advisory services, covering the full lifecycle of a commercial transaction from procurement strategy and planning through to contract execution. Reporting to the Executive Director, Investment Management and Reporting, this integral senior role is accountable for the development and execution of procurement and all operational strategies to support enterprise and business requirements while taking ownership of solutions and their delivery.

Leading a team of circa 35 staff, the Director, Procurement will deliver strong strategic, commercial and operational leadership, while instilling a team culture of responsibility and ownership within all direct reports. The role will strongly focus on uplifting capability, business engagement and partnering, best practice and commercial support, process efficiency and continuous improvement.  

To be considered, you will have demonstrable senior leadership experience in Procurement within large and culturally diverse environments backed with a track record of driving transformational changes that have delivered efficiency, commercial value and sustainable improvements. You will present with a high level of emotional intelligence and maturity to engage senior stakeholders, while providing clear direction and driving consensus around procurement strategy.

This is an outstanding career opportunity where you will play a key leadership role during an exciting period of transformation. The role is classified Executive Officer, Level 3 with a fixed term of up to five years and a total remuneration package ranging from $185,711 to $240,789, inclusive of superannuation.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • Position will be located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands. In early 2020, the role will relocate to 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The preferred candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment security checks
