VICTORIAN SCHOOL BUILDING AUTHORITY The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) has been created by the Victorian Government to manage a very ambitious suite of infrastructure projects with a value of over $10 billion. The VSBA remains within the Department and is focused on high quality and timely project delivery, with over 1,000 building projects across the State, as well as innovative reform in infrastructure design and delivery, and increased engagement with school communities. The VSBA was established in 2016 and is contributing to the delivery of the Government's Education State where every child has access to a great local school. The Government expects the delivery of high quality infrastructure on time and budget, accountability, a high standard of reporting, a significant increase in the engagement with local communities and improved public communications.
The Authority is responsible for:
Managing key data sets of the portfolio; assets, expenditure and processes to meet reporting requirements and portfolio analysis to inform policy and standards development
The Department of Education (DE) leads the delivery of education and development services to children and students both directly through government schools and indirectly through the regulation and funding of early childhood services and non-government schools.
