Join the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) and play a pivotal role setting our service planning direction as we plan to deliver Australia's most significant health infrastructure project. In a landmark commitment made in October 2022, the Victorian Government set in motion substantial enhancements to the Parkville campus, coupled with the establishment of the innovative Arden medical precinct.

This visionary endeavor, a $5 to $6 billion expansion, marks a milestone in health infrastructure. An initial investment of $2 to $2.5 billion initiates the transformation at Parkville and lays the foundation for the future Arden medical hub. RMH is assembling a leadership team to drive this significant program of work.

The Opportunity:

The Director Service Planning and Development leads a range of service planning and related corporate activities across the RMH. The Director plays an active role in service plan implementation as a member of the RMH’s broader Redevelopment, Capital Works and Service Planning business unit. The position requires collaborative work with executives, directors, senior clinicians and external stakeholders such as other health services and the Department of Health.

Collaborative Partnerships:

This role necessitates close collaboration with internal stakeholders across the RMH. Furthermore, external partnerships are essential with precinct and government stakeholders, including the Victorian Health Building Authority, Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH), Water & Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI) of Medical Research, and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC).
