About the role

The position of District Manager provides operational leadership to the District Management Team and all staff in the District. They have accountability for the development and delivery of the District Action Plan, ensuring consistency with the Regional Action Plan. The role has management over the Districts' Parks and the relationships and requirements of the Traditional Owners within the specific District. The District Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the broader community and other organisations operating within the District, including politicians, friends' groups, volunteers, businesses and officers within relevant Government Departments. The District Manager provides strategic leadership in the District and contributes to, and provides advice to, the Regional Management Team as well as providing leadership in the implementation of change management and business improvement strategies. The District Manager has complete oversight for the District for emergency management and fire management requirements. The District Manager will also manage the finance, governance and risk management requirements and controls for their District.
