About Dandenong Hospital's Emergency Department

TheEmergency Department at Dandenong Hospitalis responsible for approximately 70,000 emergency presentations annually and is a mixed ED seeing both adults and paediatrics. The department has 55 cubicles including four resuscitation cubicles, decontamination facilities and two isolation rooms.  There are also dedicated facilities for patients with Mental Health needs and a 20 bed adult short stay unit.

About The Role

Dandenong emergency department is now hiring a Nurse Manager (NM).

Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, the NM is responsible for the clinical and operational outcomes and the management of staff including workforce management and strategy. The NM is also accountable for managing all financial resources as well as delivering service improvements and innovations across ED. With exceptional communication and proven people management skills, the NM is expected to lead by example and inspire their team to perform at their best whilst working collaboratively and in partnership with all key stakeholders. The NM is also responsible for proactively advocating Monash Health’s guiding principles in the relentless pursuit of excellence which includes the delivery of a high standard of evidence-based nursing care to patients and their families.

This is an ongoing full time opportunity, Monday to Friday

About You

You are dedicated, driven and a leader in Emergency Nursing. You are an exceptional manager, an articulate communicator and thrive on challenges.  You have previous experience working within a high acuity, emergency setting and truly flourish working in a fast paced dynamic environment. You are passionate about patient safety and are seeking a new opportunity that will enable you to play an instrumental role in driving the operational and performance requirements of an emergency department that is growing, whilst delivering outstanding patient centred emergency care.

What You Need

  • A Post Graduate Qualification in Emergency Nursing (Desirable)

  • Proven Clinical Leadership/Management experience in Emergency Nursing

  • Demonstrated Emergency Nursing experience

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Australian working rights
