What You Will Be Doing

The Emergency Management Consultant provides advice and recommendations to the Executive and the Emergency Management Steering Committee on strategic direction, planning and resources required for emergency preparedness for relevant internal emergency codes (Red, Orange, Purple, Grey, Black, Blue, Yellow, Brown).
This role contributes substantially to the strategic direction of the service and therefore requires the formation of strong relationships with senior management and staff of Peninsula Health.

The primary purpose of this position is the development, coordination, implementation and delivery of the Internal Emergency Management Program, and Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances Program in collaboration with management and other key stakeholders.

We anticipate you will have:
• Ensure systems, processes and policies are revised and aligned with current legislation.
• Assist to create a work environment which is safe for staff and consumers, without risk to health and is reflective of best practice standards.
• Manage time and resources efficiently and effectively in a manner in keeping at all times with Peninsula Health’s vision and values.
• Be responsible for updating professional development in relation to current legislation and best practice.
