These roles are part of our COVID response and will include Covid Screening, Vaccination preparation and Vaccination administration. About Us

Monash Health is Victoria’s largest public health service.  As part of Victoria’s COVID-19 response, we are responsible for coordinating immunisation across south-eastern Melbourne, managed by the South East Public Health Unit (SEPHU). 

Who can be part of the workforce

Under the PHEO a range of health professions have been authorised to participate in the COVID-19 vaccine program as Emergency Workers.  We’d love to hear from you if you have a background in the following:

*Pathology Collector *Aboriginal Health Practitioners *Dental and Oral Health *Physiotherapist *Occupational Therapist *Podiatrist *Optometrist *Medical Radiation Practitioner *Orthoptist *Prosthetist *Orthotist *Speech pathologist *Dietitian Medical Science / Laboratory *Ambulance *Registered Nurse *Registered Midwife *Enrolled Nurse (with successfully completed IM training)

About the Role

As part of our Immunisation workforce, you will work under the direction and supervision of a Team Leader/Primary Immuniser, assisting in the preparation and delivery of COVID-19 Vaccines as part of the Government’s COVID-19 Vaccine and Treatment Strategy.  Where authorised, your primary responsibility will be for the preparation and providing immunisations safely and accurately.  Depending on clinic activity, you may rotate through a range of roles throughout a shift, relevant to your qualifications, including:

  • Administration of the immunisation;

  • Preparation of vaccine doses;

  • Concierge to assist in clinic flow;

  • Accurately entering vaccination details into relevant systems; and

  • Observing people post immunisation.

Clinics are open seven days per week and we anticipate that as the requirements for immunisation change, further clinics may be established throughout the catchment area.

About You/what You need 

If your workforce group requires AHPRA registration, please provide your current registration number as part of the application process

If your application is successful, you will need to complete the mandatory State and Commonwealth training to enable you to deliver immunisations safely. We will pay you to do this training and support you with on the job training.
