The Parkville EMR is a world-class system shared by The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women's Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Children's Hospital to support high-quality, seamless healthcare in Parkville and improve health outcomes for Victorians.

The EMR is used by more than 15,000 clinicians and staff across the four health services and delivered in partnership with Epic, a global leader in health information technology.

Your contribution 

The Women's Informatics team is responsible for the day to day management, operation and improvement of the EMR at the Women's. As a Clinical Credentialed Trainer, you will combine your clinical and training experience to deliver end user training and support to all users of the Women's EPIC EMR.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Delivering face to face and online training of EMR curriculum to diverse audiences

  • Providing support during EMR upgrades

  • Assisting to prepare training environments

  • Preparing and adapting training materials to ensure they stay current and fit for purpose

  • Providing day to day support for staff on the floor in relation to using the EMR

  • Participating in the review of EMR incidents and follow through any workflow design issues and optimization requests

  • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for your application's functionality, providing trouble shooting, process expertise and guidance

  • Become certified in relevant Epic modules

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • A strong belief in the need for, and benefits of an EMR

  • The ability to confidently present to small or large groups, and effectively engage participants in training sessions

  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills

  • An enthusiastic outlook and drive to improve care using process design and technology

  • Experience or knowledge of an EMR, eHealth system or other health care clinical applications

  • Flexibility to accommodate early morning, late afternoon and/or weekend training sessions as well as support out of hours to assist with planned outages and EMR upgrade work
