Barwon Health is offering a transition to practice program in aged care, the program is 8 weeks intensive where clinical support is provided along with included supernumerary time in Wallace Lodge at the Barwon Health McKellar site. After the consolidation period there will be an opportunity to continue working at Wallace Lodge or return to a permanent CRU pool positon. Further opportunities will be available to transfer to other aged care/sub-acute and acute wards.

Barwon Health, Central Resource Unit (CRU) provides emergent and non-emergent nursing staff replacement for all bed based services. We provide staffing resources to meet every day operational needs of clinical units for nursing and support staff for bed based units across Barwon Health.

A great new initiative from the government has announced a ‘Healthcare Worker Winter Retention and Surge Payment’, for public sector healthcare workers.
