Industry Coordination and Recovery Group

The Industry Coordination and Recovery Group leads and works with our partners to enable Victorian industries and businesses to recover and thrive while operating in a COVID-safe environment. Our goal is to ensure business and industry is COVID-safe and active contributors to Victoria's economic recovery.

We achieve this by supporting industry, businesses and workplaces through strategy, engagement and delivery of COVID-safe programs to support industry and businesses to respond to the changing public health landscape.

Our group engages with industry through all channels, gathering intelligence and providing advice to DHHS public health teams on industry impacts. We work across government to support portfolio leads in industries for engagement and enforcement.

The Industry Coordination and Recovery Group comprises seven branches: ICRG Strategy and Preparedness, Industry Recovery Engagement, Industry Information & Coordination, Office of the Deputy State Controller, Office of the Deputy Secretary, Industry Support & Events and Ministerial Coordination.

Industry Recovery Engagement Branch

The Industry Recovery Engagement branch is responsible for the engagement, education and coordination with industry and sectors relating to COVID-19. The branch leads the stakeholder engagement process with key partners, working dynamically and adaptively to engage across the economy through industry sectors. The branch has a key focus on developing and translating policy that contributes to COVID-safe policies and practices and enables economic recovery.

The Role:

Reporting to a Manager, Industry Recovery Engagement, the Engagement Officer works under direction and as part of the Industry Recovery Engagement branch to support engagement with business associations, councils, local business networks and directly with businesses to ensure those businesses understand Victoria's COVID-19 management framework and are operating in COVID-safe ways.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:  

  • Written and verbal communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver correspondence, briefs and reports in a clear and succinct way targeted to the needs of the audience. 
  • Strategic engagement acumen: Demonstrated experience in supporting the delivery of the strategic engagement function for stakeholder groups, including identifying issues and opportunities and appropriate approaches to engagement and communications solutions.
  • Relationship building: Establishes and maintains relationships with people at all levels; promotes harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of disagreements; Forges beneficial partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations.
  • Teamwork: Cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of team goals, collaborates and shares information; shows consideration, concern and respect for others' feelings and ideas; accommodates and works well with the different working styles of others; encourages resolution of conflict within the group.
  • Analytical and conceptual skills with a demonstrated ability to analyse complex problems and data to provide strategic advice and solutions to achieve outcomes.
