About the role

The GVPHU Engagement Officer is a role with a focus on building trust and engagement for public health topics within the GVPHU catchment and the community. They will work closely with the GV Health, the Vaccination Team, other key GVPHU staff and community stakeholders to deliver and evaluate place-based engagement initiatives that support effective public health interventions and outcomes within the GVPHU catchment based on evidence-based community engagement practices.

We are looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a health, communications, social science, community engagement/development or similar
  • Knowledge and understanding of contemporary frameworks and approaches to community engagement in the priority populations or hard to reach groups.
  • Strong interpersonal, liaison and negotiating skills with the ability to network effectively in the design and delivery of engagement and partnership initiatives
  • Experience in group facilitation, with the ability to manage the dynamics of diverse stakeholder groups and engage community members
