The position of Engagement officer, Metro Business Engagement forms a part of the Industry Coordination & Recovery group.

The Industry Coordination and Recovery Group leads and works with our partners to enable Victorian industries and businesses to recover and thrive while operating in a COVIDSafe environment. Our goal is to ensure business and industry is COVIDSafe and active contributors to Victoria's economic recovery.

We achieve this by supporting industry, businesses and workplaces through strategy, engagement and delivery of COVIDSafe programs, to support industry and business to respond to the changing public health landscape.

Our group engages with industry through all channels, gathering intelligence and providing advice to DHHS public health teams on industry impacts. We work across government to support portfolio leads in industries for engagement and enforcement.

The Deputy State Controller leads the coordination of engagement strategies as they relate to high risk and at-risk businesses within the remit of the High-Risk Industries Engagement and Enforcement Operation (HRIEEO). The HRIEEO helps prevent virus spread via proactive and targeted interventions across agencies, ensure compliance by high-risk industries to COVID safe ways of operating, inform and support other COVID operations and inform economic recovery measures for high risk and at risk industries. It coordinates intelligence led and risk-based engagement, compliance and enforcement activity for high risk and at risk workplaces.

Reporting to the Manager, Metro Business Engagement, the Engagement Officer works within a metropolitan Melbourne area to engage with business associations, councils, local business networks and directly with key businesses to ensure they understand and operating in a COVID Safe ways.

The Engagement Officer works as part of a team with partners across the Victorian Government to translate and provide feedback on COVID-19 restrictions and impacts to businesses. This role is within a newly established branch and team which will require rapid design and delivery of ways or working across the branch.
