About Our Facility

Barwon Health is the largest health service in regional Victoria and based in Geelong, it is within commuting range from the west side of Melbourne.  With approximately 7,000 employees, 22 sites and a broad range of services, Barwon Health plays a key role in the health and wellbeing of our local community and the Barwon South Western region.

The environmental services teams’ primary role is to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff, in accordance with Victorian Healthcare Cleaning Standards and the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards.

About the Role

We currently have varied casual relief positions within the Environmental Services team at the McKellar Centre and Alan David Lodge. The role will be responsible for:

Administration Relief

  • Coordinate the ongoing availability, advance allocation, and training of staff within Barwon Health Environmental Services to enable the delivery of cleaning, housekeeping, and waste management to a standard commensurate with applicable Aged Care Standards and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care Standards
  • Oversee and coordinate the staff management and human resource functions including use of online systems related to advance rosters, payroll, on boarding, performance review, and mandatory training of staff within Barwon Health Environmental Services
  • Engage with all staff to ensure appropriate conduct, behaviours, and communication occurs at all times

Patient Service Assistance Level 1

  • Cleaning and housekeeping
  • Meal service delivery
  • Waste attendant
  • Personal laundry services
