The Support Services function at Monash Health is vital to help us deliver excellent patient care in our hospitals, residential and primary care sites.  Our commitment to environmental sustainability has been recognised through our winning several awards for these initiatives.  We are now looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Environmental professional to lead our sustainability programs.

About the role

Specific key result areas for the role include:

• Leading environmental projects identified in our Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan;


• Identifying and developing funding sources and availability for environmental initiatives;


• Establishing systems and processes to support our ability to meet all accreditation standards relating to waste and sustainability;


• Working collaboratively with leaders and teams to coordinate and promote environmental initiatives;


• Developing, delivering and evaluating relevant education programs; and


• Ensuring our legislative reporting requirements are met.

The role will be appointed on a permanent basis, working four days per week and travel will be required across Monash Health sites.

 About you

With well-developed skills in the Microsoft Office suite, are passionate about environmental sustainability and you relish the opportunity to make a difference. You can also demonstrate:

• Sophisticated communication skills enabling you to communicate complex information effectively to a wide range of stakeholders;


• Sound knowledge of environmental management systems, including resource efficiency and waste minimisation;


• Experience working on practical sustainability projects;


• Excellent understanding of relevant legislative framework and an understanding of accreditation as it relates to sustainability; and


• University qualifications in environmental science, environmental sustainability or similar.

Previous experience in a large complex organisation and/or health setting will be highly regarded and a current Driver’s Licence is required.
