An exciting opportunity to join Austin Cancer Clinical Trials department as an Ethics Submission Coordinator.

About our Centre

Austin Cancer Clinical Trials (CCT) has a reputation of excellence with expertise in managing Oncology and Haematology interventional clinical trials from First-in-human Phase?1 to Phase 3.? We have over 250 clinical trials in progress including Pharmaceutical Company commercially sponsored, Collaborative Group and Investigator-initiated trials.

About the role

The successful applicant will be part of a team responsible for ensuring effective and streamlined?Ethics and Institutional Research?Governance?applications and processes for both single site and multi-site studies conducted through CCT.

Key Responsibilities of this role:  

  • Ethics and research governance submissions as part of the study start up team, and receipt of approvals/acknowledgements for all clinical research projects conducted across the unit. 

  • Working closely and effectively with Austin Departments and other applicable vendors, to ensure optimal workflow. 

  • Prepare?ongoing amendment and essential documents processing as well as general ethics related correspondence in liaison with Investigators and Sponsors. 

  • Maintain?the unit Master Ethics Tracker to ensure oversight and transparency of all ethics related activities. 


  • Understanding of cancer/biology with appropriate tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in an administrative/life science field.  

  • Knowledge of ethics and research governance submissions, receipt and opitmal electronic repository of approvals/acknowledgements for clinical research projects. 

  • A working knowledge completing HREA (Human Research Ethics Application) and SSA (Site Specific Assessment) Form. 

  • Proven?ability to work independently and part of a team, adhering to tight deadlines, working on multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationship with internal and external parties. 

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite especially Word and Excel 

  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail. Including high level of efficiency whilst maintaining accuracy.
