About us:

The Specialist Courts Division of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria brings together mainstream court support programs, specialist courts, and the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT). The focus of the division is driving the implementation and development of solution focused and therapeutic approaches to justice. Specialist Courts include Drug Court, Assessment and Referral Court, Koori Court, Neighbourhood Justice Centre and Specialist Family Violence Court. The Drug Court is a statutory division of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and is part of MCV's Specialist Courts and Programs. The division provides an alternative sentencing option to offenders with drug and / or alcohol dependency who have committed offence/s whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol and / or to support their dependency.

About the role:

As part of the Specialist Courts and Programs' Insights and Reform Unit, the Evaluation Officer is responsible for supporting evidence-informed service delivery and decision making within the Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) Drug Court. This role is responsible for developing broad ranging tools and processes that drive effective monitoring, evaluation, learning and improvement within the Drug Court. This will include undertaking high level research and analysis to inform effective monitoring and evaluation processes, including the development and implementation of the program logic and theory of change. In consultation with the Senior Evaluation Lead and General Manager, Drug Court, the evaluation officer will lead the design and development of tools and processes for capturing, analysing and making evidence informed program recommendations.

About you:

The successful candidate will work demonstrate: Strong experience in the design and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation Frameworks of different projects and programs within the justice system / public service system. Experience or understanding of problem-solving courts and / or therapeutic program delivery. Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports.
